Simultaneous assessment of myocardial scar and coronary artery disease by navigator-gated 3D fat-suppressed delayed-enhancement CMR: comparison with 2D delayed-enhancement CMR, CT and CAG

چکیده
Background Simultaneous assessment of myocardial scar or perfusion reduction and coronary artery stenosis is currently performed by side-by-side comparison or image fusion using coronary CTA and myocardial perfusion study, but the misregistration and differences in spatial resolution between imaging methods can be problematic. A CMR technique that can visualize both myocardial scar and coronary artery disease during a single examination may resolve this problem.

Magnetic resonance imaging in the detection of myocardial viability: the role of delayed contrast hyperenhancement.
has emerged as a new noninvasive modality in the investigation of cardiovascular disease during the last decade. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has well-established imaging capabilities for the assessment of global and regional left ventricular (LV) function and mass. Its potential for the assessment of ischaemic heart disease is currently being explored in many centres. The main focus...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to establish a new, dynamic 3-dimensional cardiac magnetic resonance (3D-CMR) perfusion scan technique exploiting data correlation in k-space and time with sensitivity-encoding and to determine its value for the detection of coronary artery disease (CAD) and volumetry of myocardial hypoenhancement (VOLUME(hypo)) before and after percutaneous coronary stentin...
متن کاملMyocardium area at risk measured with delayed enhancement after scar remodelling compared with T2-weighted cardiac magnetic resonance imaging
Background Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) provides an accurate method to determine myocardial infarct size. The myocardium area at risk (AAR) defined, as the part of the myocardium that is endangered during an acute occlusion of a coronary artery, can retrospectively be determined using T2-weigthed CMR imaging or by measuring the ESA of the infarct on delayed enhancement imaging. Previously, ...
متن کاملDelayed enhancement and myocardial velocity mapping CMR reveal differences in regional left ventricular function with varying levels of scar
Background Delayed enhancement (DE) CMR is the gold standard for detecting irreversibly damaged myocardial tissue (scar). Yet, direct impact of scar on regional systolic and diastolic left ventricular (LV) function is not well understood. Standard tools for LV velocities (Tissue Doppler Imaging) are limited by poor reproducibility and incomplete assessment of all regions and motion directions. ...
متن کاملMicrovascular Obstruction Evaluation Using Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) in ST-Elevated Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) Patients
BACKROUND Restoration of blood flow in epicardial coronary artery in patients with acute myocardial infarction can, but does not have to restore efficient blood flow in coronary circulation. The aim of the study was a direct comparison of microvascular obstruction (MVO) detected by rest and stress perfusion imaging and gadolinium enhancement obtained 2 min. (early MVO) and 15 min. (delayed MVO)...
